A Huge Thank you to all our lovely guests that braved the horrible weather today & came to visit us here at Pantyfod Gardens was so lovely to meet you all ☔❤️☕🍰 our canope has definatly come in useful this week to keep you all dry in this beautiful Welsh weather ☔🏴󐁧󐁢󐁷󐁬󐁳󐁿😂 After a very wet day we closed the gates only to be blessed with beautiful sunshine ☀️🙈 So me & the little one took full advantage & enjoyed an evening stroll coming across lots of beautiful wildlife along the way 😍☀️ dogs, cows, dragon flies, a heron feeding at the waters edge & this little beauty........... 😍 A Zootoca Vivipara also known as the Common Lizard ❤️🦎 Timid, lightning-quick & sun-worshipping. The common lizard basks in the warmth of the sun along woodland edges & sunny glades. It stays close to dense cover so it can quickly hide among twigs, logs, long grass & leaves. The common lizard is unusual amongst reptiles as it incubates its eggs inside its body & 'gives birth' to live young rather than laying eggs. If threatened by a predator, the common lizard will shed its still-moving tail in order to distract its attacker & make a quick getaway. This does leave a scar behind, but it can regrow its tail, although it is usually shorter than the original. #lovewildlife #learnthroughplay #lizard #naturelovers #amazingcreatures
